T wo Wednesdays ago was the best Wednesday of any Wednesday I have ever had in the history of Wednesday-dom. (Although that may not be completely true, considering I don’t remember what I was doing on every Wednesday of my life…..I may have been born on a Wednesday…I don’t remember.) It was a day of learning…mingling…..getting brand new cohorts in photography crime.
I met up in Clinton, CT with Gene Higa, Justin and Mary Marantz and around 15 other photographers to learn about the business side of wedding photography. If you’ve ever owned or currently own a business…..then you know why it is called “a business”. About 10% of the time, you actually get to DO what you sell (in my case…photography). The rest of the time is spent on the all-enthralling, rip roaring, crazy coaster of behind-the-scenes business. Funny thing about coasters….you have to buckle up for them. The Marantz’s and Gene Higa became my business seat-belt. They talked all morning about finding your niche in the wedding photography world, finding inspiration, falling in love with your clients and job (a little too easy for me….lol), and wait….did I say finding inspiration? Cuz, yeah….I found that.
So….in honor of everything I learned, I am slowly revamping everything!! The blog is the first to change. Just small things here and there. Nothing major. I’ve revamped the blog with a new banner and have a few other tidbits in mind. So keep an eye out for the awesomness. The banner is just a taste.
If the day was the coolest ever so far…which it already was, I had the chance to shoot a beautiful couple that afternoon!! JC and Esther were an absolutely gorgeous couple. And I may be terrible at math, but Beautiful Couple + Beautiful Background = Terra freaking out at the fantabulousness. No seriously….freaking out!!! So, without further ado……the fabulousness :
How cute are these cupcakes!!! The theme was “laundry-day”. So cute!!!!!
See? Underwear!!!! So cute!!!! Don’t worry….they were bought, not previously worn.
Sticking with theme, there was “Darks”, “Lights” and “Whites” chocolate jars!! Seriously!!! I know!!! I freaked!!!
The reception table was stunning. It ran down the length of one of the vineyard rows. The guests could sit on pillows (all different and cute) surrounded by beautiful bouquets of hand-picked styled flowers. LOTS of sunflowers….my fav. They had little soaps sitting around the table which kept with the theme. The lighting as it streamed through the vases and glasses was amazing. I tried to capture it as best I could….but you seriously had to be there.
Hmm…..there seems to be something missing….
…….hmmm……
WAIT!!! I got it!!!! JC and Esther!!!

And Lindsay was an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING bridesmaid!!!
Really, I had gorgeous people, gorgeous setting, gorgeous lighting…and day of learning and chilling with some of the industry’s top photographers….yeah, completely incredible day! Thank you all!!
