T his post, ladies and gentlemen, is going to be short on words and long on images!! Ryan and Laura were an absolutely awesome couple that got married on July 25th (I know….seriously behind on blogging, right?) This was actually an awesome wedding, being that I got to hang with the guys for once!! Mike Lesnick, the primary photographer for this beautiful couple, got to take all of the dress shots, jewelery shots, and make-up pertifyin’ business with ladies.
I got scrabble and the flower girls…..
……
I think I won.

Seriously….I did. Check these images out!!!
The cafe, A Moment to Remember, where the bride hosted her luncheon was soooo cute!!! I told Mike that if I owned an old library, this is what I would want it to look like…only with books instead of jams.

Seriously!!! A library!! I would even have the little bird houses…in some sort of bookish form. (Maybe the ladybug painted on them would be reading a book.)
(….right….now I sound like an idiot. A really cheesy idiot.)
(But I still stand by my bad cheesy idea.)

After a seriously delicious burger, I left Mike with the ladies and headed over to the guys abode. I got a bit lost (even after the bride’s mom explained the right way to get to the house…MY GPS LIED!! Of course, if you’ve heard about my recent trip to Canada, this should not surprise you.). I was only ten minutes late, but I was really hoping they hadn’t started getting ready yet! I mean, there are only so many details you can get of the guys. Their getting ready process is, what…20 minutes tops?
This….was the havoc I was met with when I finally found the house.

…a rousing game of Scrabble in which the word “Siv” was being vociferously debated. (Vociferous is a word I wish I could one day use to win Scrabble. Alas, the best I can usually come up with is “Cat”. *sigh*)
About 15 minutes later, the game ended and I pulled myself out of my entrancement between the Scrabble game and the “The Deadliest Catch” which was playing on the TV at the time.
The guys (Father of the Groom included) finally decided to start getting their tux’s on.

The flower girls and mother of the groom arrived to help get things moving.

…We got some great portraits!! The image of the guys around the scrabble table is only the most AWESOME shot of groomsmen EVER! I was going for a “Dogs Playing Poker” feel…only with “Guys Playing Scrabble”.

We finally loaded up the cars and headed to the church where boutinniere’s were being put on, and places were being determined.

Once everything was organized and figured out, the wedding began….(kind of an obvious next step, if you ask me…Although I hope I never shoot a wedding that is not that predictable.)
From where I stood in the room, I could get this beautiful portrait of the Mother of the Bride about to be escorted down the isle.

The colors were stunning in this church! Lots of reds and yellows and deep browns…(That’s Mike at the head of the isle in the flower girl shot!)

The ceremony went of with a hitch.
*snicker*
Get it? Cuz they got hitched? I can be clever sometimes…

And we headed back in to take some formal shots at the alter. I shot around the room while Mike organized the families.

I have NO IDEA what the groomsmen had been up to the previous night….but something tells me the bachelor celebrations took a toll on some of the groomsmen.

And finally…it was time to partay it up at The Mimslyn Inn!! What a gorgeous reception venue!! I would just love to stay there sometime!!

I love the flow between the flowers at the reception and the design of the cake.

These guys didn’t waste anytime! They were announced and jumped straight into the dancing!

Almost everyone in the room had a tie to the University of Alabama. I can’t remember what song came on, but between every chorus…EVERY person would throw their fist in the air and yell “ROLL TIDE ROLL”. It was super fun, and made me wish I was a Tide.

The couple was an absolute pleasure to work with!! I get so excited when I get the chance to shoot with Mike. I know I’m going to be hangin’ out with awesome clients and an awesome photographer. Thanks for letting me tag along!!!

Until next time guys,
Terra

WOW, simply stunning coverage on this. I LOVE the shot of mom before she’s escorted down the isle.
Thank you so much, Mark!!! I was really proud of the mom shot as well!! I turned from the isle and saw her framed perfectly in the door and had to take it.
(I am also quite fond of the sleeping groomsman….lol.)
Beautiful shots! Love the Scrabble tiles!
I hopped over here from the B School. Love these! You are very talented.
