The Family Theater Drive-In

My friends tell me I don’t post enough personal work….so here ya go!!

On Friday night, me and three friends drove about an hour down the road to Stephens City, VA to the Family Theater. It’s a fun Drive-In movie theater that my family and I have been going to for a few years now. You can just tell that a lot of the people who come here, have made it a family tradition. When you get there, about a half an hour early, you park on the side of Route 11 with your blinkers on, waiting for the gates to open. At 8pm (or maybe a few minutes before) the cars start inching forward…

The tickets are $7.50 per person, but you get to see two shows!!! Wait….that’s like $3.25 per movie!!! I didn’t think prices like that still existed. Our $1 theatre in town recently raised their prices for the billionth time to $5.25!!

I thought it was awesome that the Family Drive-In Theater is the only business located on Theater Lane. I know that’s kinda the point……but it’s so dang cute!!!
Admission: Stephens City, VA
These guys at the admission booth on the way in thought I was nuts. They watched me climb over a ditch to get various shots of the front of the theater…including the street sign. When I climbed back out of the ditch, they went back to ignoring me again. Of course…I had to walk by them to get back into the theatre again.:)Awkward……..

Serena, Steven, Conor and I had such a blast!! Serena and I popped open the back of the SUV and reclined in trunk area. Pretty dang comfortable!! The guys used the lawn chairs with footrests. We packed chocolate chip cookies, bugles, and Jones Soda. It was a very vintage themed evening.:)

Bertie: Stephens City, VA

Some people who come to the movies find it an occasion to get dressed up for, much like Bertie the pug, who’s owners dressed up her and her sister. (Her sister was camera shy and preferred to remain off camera…)

Movie: Stephens City, VA

The movie starts usually when the sun is about ten minutes from being gone. IT’S AWESOME!!! If you guys are ever in Northern Virginia and decide to hit up Stephens City…oh please call me. I would go back to the Family Theater anyday. (I’ll bring the Jones!!)

Check out the rest of the images on my flickr stream!!!
